Stacey's Go Fund Me for School

Getting to graduation isn't easy.  Many surveys show "that 2.8 million new students enroll in higher education every year. Out of this number only five students who enroll in an associates program graduates in three years while others who try to complete their bachelors finish in six years".  Why ? Because education rates for college increase almost every year making it hard for students to graduate on their anticipated year.

My college journey began August 2011.  Before then I was very nervous and hesitant about even starting college. I started attending The  New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn, New York. Everything went great I had a 3.0 average and I was approaching adulthood making decisions about my future . But then that had all changed by one event.  The Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church in Harlem's Oakwood University Alumni Chapter of New York awarded me Youth of the Year.  When I attended the banquet in Queens, New York, I had the pleasure to meet the provost of Oakwood University, Timothy McDonald. At the banquet the university was raising money for repairs at the school.  He asked me have I ever thought about attending Oakwood University. I had to be honest with him , I wasn't . I always thought that just because you were African American and Christian, Oakwood University was the place for you. He offered me the opportunity to take a visit to school and of course I took the offer, I was sold.

Many people had supported my decision to transfer to Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama in 2012.  Right then last minute I packed my bags and my father, aunt and I drove down to Alabama in August. When I reached Oakwood everything was great. The atmosphere was like no other place. At Oakwood you will meet students from all over the world and the country. It just has a uniqueness about the presence.  The campus is full of students of faith and passion for God. The spiritual atmosphere is powerful and captivates you when you listen to the magnificent voices of music and spoken word by students.  Alabama is known for its tornados and severe storm warnings.  Oakwood University is so blessed that it has never been harmed all it's years there.  The campus has a professional student-teacher relationship that you can't find no where else. The staff members  care about the future of the students and seek out the best opportunities possible.  That is why everyone calls it the "Oakwood Experience ", because you can't find it everywhere else.  Although Oakwood has its uniqueness, there is also what people call "the struggle".

What everyone calls "The Struggle" is when students are at the Student Accounts Office and Financial Aid office all day trying to see what funds are available and left regarding their tuiton bills.  I am one out of the 2,000 students who can testify to that.  Some are fortunate to not have to go through that process every year and then there are others like myself who are almost finish with school but can't even get enrolled into school because they can't afford it.  There's so much you can do , but what is left when you tried parent plus loans, scholarships, federal grants and loans ? Many may say why struggle and go through all of it .  It can really test your faith .  But God always has a miraculous way to turn things around and sometimes it may not go your way .  Right now I owe Oakwood University at least 10,000 dollars.  I've decided to go on gofundme.com when my sister gave me the idea to try to raise money on this website.  My goal is to raise 20,000 dollars to help me enroll back into school.  I know that God has not brought me through so many semesters to stop. I have all the motivation to finish because I'm so close to where I need to be .

Please help  me  raise 20,000 to enroll back into school today !
