Khloe's Care Fund

Khloe was born on 4/25/10 as the half-sister to my daughter, Kaylee. Their Father is Brent McGhee and Khloe's Mother is Gwen Parrish, both of Wilmington, NC. I am Khloe's Godmother and Kaylee's mother, Cassandra Morgan.

Khloe was seen by several doctors in Wilmington for an unexplained limp over a period of 3 months before she was finally referred to UNC Hospital - Chapel Hill. Her first appt. at UNC Hospital was on 1/16/13 and a CT scan later in the day revealed a brain tumor the size of a large orange. Surgery was scheduled for 1/18/13 and after 10 long hours the tumor was successfully removed.

The pathology results came back one week later showing malignant cells. UNC decided to turn their findings over to a hospital in California that specialize in testing rare malignant cells. The pathologists say they had never seen anything like it at UNC Hospital before. Doctors say that she will need chemotherapy and physical therapy but are not sure of the long-term treatment plan just yet. More surgery is scheduled for 2/5/13. Brent and Gwen are staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill.

The funds that we raise will be used to help the parents with transportation and living expenses while Khloe is in the hospital. Some of their bills have fallen behind and Gwen is not able to work. All of Khloe's medical treatments and hospital bills are fully covered by NC Medicaid.
