If you are receiving this email or viewing this post, it is because you have been tagged as a family member or friend of the Zabian Family. As you likely know, Khali Zabian, age 19 of Lee, Massachusetts, was hit by a car on August 7, 2019.
Khali was an honor student and top athlete at her local high school. She was preparing to return for her second year to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University where she was enrolled in the Air Force ROTC program with plans for a medical career in the Air Force.
Since the accident, hundreds of thousands of people throughout the U.S. and around the world have been praying for her as she struggles to recover from a catastrophic traumatic brain injury, a stroke, and several broken bones.
After an eight hour brain surgery, Khali was sent by medivac to Bay State Hospital Trauma Center of Springfield, MA where she remained in the surgical ICU wing for three weeks. She is showing signs of awakening from a coma; grasping a hand on command and fluttering her eyes. Now stabilized, she has been transferred to a long-term rehabilitation center where the long, difficult road to recovery awaits.
Her family has been by her side, staying in a hotel room and inn in the area since they are far from home. Now that she is transferred, a more permanent living arrangement will need to be found.
Medical costs outside of what’s covered by insurance could run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. We want to give the Zabian family some relief from financial stress so they can focus on Khali’s care.
Many of you have asked how you can help, so a group of friends put together this site as a means to support the family.
All contributions to this fund will help pay Khali’s medical and rehabilitation expenses, as well as housing assistance for the family as both the hospital and rehabilitation center are far from home.
