Help Fred Fight Cancer

Donation protected

It's amazing how quickly things change. It was only after a freak Jeep accident that we found out Fred had cancer. And of course it isn't an easily treatable cancer but a rare form. He was diagnosed on 5/18/16 with Duodenal Cancer. This is a rare cancer with limited treatment options. His prognosis isnt good. He has surpassed the year the doctor gave him. He is fighting!

We started with the option of him having the "Whipple" procedure but the night before the surgery we got the devastating news that he wasn't a candidate since it had spread. It is Stage IV and incurable. The duodenal bypass was performed as palliative care. His life expectancy was 6 months to a year. He was given 6 months without chemo and 1 year with chemo. He has surpassed this because he is a FIGHTER and he has "God in him", he tells people this all, the time. Without faith the fight wouldn't have been possible.

He has since had 29 rounds of chemo. The cancer fight is physically and mentally exhausting for him but throughout all of this his focus has been to be the best he can be and to uplift as many people as possible. He has a continuous smile on his face. He hugs a lot and he is wide open for the outpouring of love and support from his doctors, nurses, office staff, friends, family and strangers!

We just got the news that he can no longer have chemo as it is no longer working. He will be tested to see if he is a candidate for Immunotherapy . This will not be a cure but another option for pallative care.

Fred has been an Auto Technician for 29 years. He was one of the best. He can no longer work. Chemotherapy has given him Neuropathy in his hands and feet. He can no longer grasp the tools and he can't keep focus due to the effects of chemo. CHEMO BRAIN is a real thing. Cancer is a disgusting disease. Not only does it eat away at the body but it takes away a person's dignity. He feels like since he can no longer work and provide for his family that he is less than the man he used to be. This is far from the truth. He is an even better man! He is amazing and has given us so much more than money could ever provide. He is a good man, a good friend, a good husband and a good father and he deserves better! Cancer has taken away some of his zeal but he won't let cancer beat him!!! He is fighting with EVERY fiber of his being.

Unfortunately, time is not on our side.

We have been using Aflac to help supplement our income but now that chemo treatments have stopped, so has the money they paid. We must now ask for financial help.
The funds will be used for lost wages while I am out of work, continued medical coverage, and medical treatments not covered by insurance.

Please donate what you can
No amount is too small and every contribution will go to Freds ongoing financial needs.
