As an LA native living in Chicago, it has been heartbreaking to watch the fires engulf urban areas of a place I call home. Friends, friends of friends, and friends of families are all impacted to varying degrees.
The LA fires have devastated the Palisades and Altadena communities, with each having a long journey to recovery ahead.
I am working on raising funds to support two communities in the Palisades and Altadena area where friends are working on the ground to support families in need. I've attached a few photos below of the exact streets where almost all the neighborhood is gone.
These are not celebrities, but everyday hardworking families who fled their homes with little to no time. The entire infrastructure of the city has been wiped away—schools, grocery stores, churches, parks, etc. What we are doing today is helping them get a head start on picking up the pieces and moving forward.
Donations will be going directly to impacted families in the Altadena and Palisades community. We will be buying gift cards for them to be able to buy what they need, when they need it. Every little bit does help.
