Veronica Spring (who many of us know as simply "Spring") is a talented, energetic, upbeat and charming young woman who lives in the Columbia Gorge.  She works hard in the restaurant business and has always been self-sufficient -- until last  year's cancer diagnosis.

She had a lengthy surgery and hospital stay last fall . . . and then the really tough, but necessary part, started: chemotherapy.

Spring just finished the second of nine rounds of treatment, each round lasting two weeks. The first round was a little rocky, but the second round was really difficult.  She suffered some of the side effects that most of us are familiar with, but there's one that's not spoken of often. That is the chemicals collect at the end of arms and legs -- so that Spring's hands and feet are burned, making it difficult for her to walk comfortably.

Spring has been trying to work, but it's questionable how long she will be able to do so as the collective results of the treatment affect her ability to do business as usual.  As if that's not enough, her old car gave it up and she had to buy a new (to her) car -- which is already in the shop for repairs.

Spring will need help just meeting day-to-day expenses, let alone dealing with medical bills.

It's hard for anybody to ask for help, but Spring has allowed us to set up this fund for her.  We think that once her many friends learn about her situation, they will be more than happy to chip in to whatever extent they can.
