Kiwi to compete World Salsa Summit

2 years ago a friend in NZ said to me that I should audition for The Latin Motion Academy in Sydney run by the 7x World Champion Oliver Pineda (he is the David Beckham, Richie Macaw or Michael Schemaker of the Salsa world.)
My first thought was ......I can't ........ followed by hundreds of other negative self doubts. I nervously shared this suggestion of auditioning with one other person who could see a flame had been ignited in my belly. They ensured I booked flights and literally walked me up the stairs of the audition when I still had 'I can't' running through my head and wobbly knees.

This year I am now taking my passion to a whole new level to compete at the World Salsa Summit in Miami. I will be competing in a Pro/am division with Oliver as my professional dance partner! Agggh I know!!
I'm sooo freakin excited! I feel so honoured that Oliver has taken me under his wing on this journey. I have been spending hours and hours training at the studio on technique but the main thing I am learning from working with a world champion is how to show that fire in your belly to the world and to free your mind of......can't.

Thanks for taking the time to read my story, please follow me as I put my heart and soul into these competitions over the next three weeks. I'm so excited that there will be a Kiwi up there on the world stage amongst the Latino's and show that we are not just great rugby players.
