Amber's Stolen Makeup/Hair Kit

Some of you know that I have just recently moved to Los Angeles from Minneapolis this past November to persue and further my hair and makeup career. Things have been going great and smoothly, I've connected with some great photographers, models and other hair and makeup artists. I also hold a position with Glamsquad, an amazing team of artists who go on location to pamper anyone from celebrity to housewife.
Last night my entire hair AND makeup kit was stolen from the trunk of my car. My life and livelihood were in that trunk. Well over $8000 worth of makeup products, skin care, makeup brushes, high end brands, specific products for sensitivities, a range of colors to fit all skin tones, all my tools, hair products, brushes, combs, curling irons, flat irons...you name it, it was in there. An entire salon on wheels. Gone. It took me 7 YEARS to build up such an amazing kit that could fit every clients needs. That kit has been with me all over the world.
I cannot even express how heart breaking it was to see all that I've worked for completely gone. I can't work because I have nothing to work with. These items were so personal and picked out specifically by me so I could be the best hair and makeup artist I could be and now I have to start over.
I hate hate hate asking for things, especially money. But due to the fact I just moved to LA and pay over $1300/month just to stay here...I really don't know what else to do but ask for any help I can get. Financially there is no way I can go shopping for a new kit. Like I said, it took me YEARS to buy what I had.
I set my goal to $3000 which will get me at least a 'beginners' Makeup kit so I can continue to work and see clients. That does not cover all of the hair supplies I use for styling and hair extensions that are gone unfortunately. From there I'll have to slowly rebuild what I had.
Insurance Details: My car was parked in my designated spot at my apartment building (not gated/secured). I have full coverage but it does NOT cover anything stolen from the vehicle. I do not have renters insurance because I just moved from MN to CA and I was dropped by my company. Also- I never keep my kit in my trunk if I know the weather is going to effect it. I've been doing this for 9 years and never had a problem until now. Lesson learned. I'm looking into renters insurance as well as insurance that will cover my kit.
I can't even begin to express my gratitude towards my fellow makeup artists and the ladies I've talked to that are willing to ship new/barely used professional makeup and tools to me, I'm beyond grateful!!
I appreciate ANY amount that is donated, every single dollar counts. Thank you in advance for the donations- you are helping me persue my dreams and keeping a roof over my head.
