repairs for my home

Donation protected
My family and I purchesed our first home over a year ago. My fiancé and I have three children and just found out that we are expecting our fourth . Our home had a second floor put on prior to us purchasing the house by another owner.  When having the home inspected the inspectors advised us that a slope in our kitchen floor was from the laminate flooring. We believing them and taking their word because you would think they would have the knowledge and training to know this stuff. After time has gone by after moving into our home many people have commented about our kitchen floor sloping and we explained the same thing that the inspectors had educated us about with laminate flooring.  The last few months we noticed little things with our house that just didn't seem right especially in the area where our floor is sloped in the kitchen. Like doors not aligned, bathroom floor tiles popping up and our bathroom shower cracking and not leveled with the tiles on the floor.
So us being new home buyers we  contacted our realtor about the different things happening with our house. He advised us to contact a structural engineer.  Once the engineer was able to come out to do his report he was able to find that the lumber( support beam in our basement holding all the weight of the house) for our house is not the right lumber to hold the extra weight of the second floor. He also found that there is no beams under the kitchen to hold the extra weight from the actic to the basement as well as the owner that did the work removed a whole joist under the kitchen to redo the bathroom plumbing.

So with finding all of this stuff out that is wrong with the structural part of our home we come to find that our heater is in the way of where one of the poles needs to go up in the basement for the kitchen.  So we have to have our heater moved over a foot or so as well as have all of the ductwork redone because of this.

Now I have talked to 7 highly recommend and well known attorneys in the county not one will take the case due to. 1. the owners we purchesed the home did not do the work so we are not indirect contract with the owners that had the work done. 2. proving the owners we purchesed the home from knew about the issues with the lumber is next to impossible. 3. we can't sue the inspectors because PA civil law states after one year you can't sue and even if you were within the one year every contract that inspectors have says you can only sue them for the amount of what you paid for the inspection to be done.

So for the amount that we are trying to raise it is for the supplies, man hours for the workers, the repairs that need to be made as well as the repairs that will need to be done once the floor is pushed up to put the new beams in and for all the heater work that needs to be done as well.

We have had 4 engineers over to inspect our house and everyone says the same thing for what is occuring. They are also stating there isn't a time frame for when your house will cave in but the wood is slowing slipping. So we are asking if you are able to give just the smallest amount that would make the biggest difference and we understand if your not able to we just ask then that you share this story to see if there is anyway anyone can help us.

We were able to finally take a loan out for 40,000 the damages and repairs as well as a second loan out for 10,000 at a interest rate of 19 percent.  We were forced to use our tax returns to keep above water with our loans to get this work done but we are still have to pay to get the work done as well as our two loans.
Thank you for all your help and please share this story.
