Kezia Pickard AML Journey

25th June 2017 our life changed forever when our 13 year old daughter Kezia was taken to hospital with breathing difficulties. She was diagnosed in the early hours of the 26th of June with Leukaemia and admitted to hospital for further testing and chemo comenced the following day. 2 days later we found out that she has AML - Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, and the doctor confirmed later that week that her type was High Risk, monosomy 7 with translocation of other chromosomes leading to a low probability of survival.
She has undergone 3 rounds of chemo so far and the only chance of a medium to long term survival from Leukemia requires a stem cell transplant. Unfortunately this in not available in South Australia and we need to move interstate to Sydney in NSW to have this treatment for an expected duration of 3 months. During this time she will be in an isolation ward for much of it and would like a parent to be with her (which will support her mental health). This means that one of us will need to be with her and one of us will need to be with her other siblings.
Michael has continued to work so far but this is going to be very hard to maintain whilst located interstate during this time. We are asking for help with the added expenses of moving our family of 7 interstate, as well as take the financial pressure off with the house morgage and every day bills and reduce the pressure of Michael having to return to work during this time so that he can focus on Kezia and the rest of the family to get us through this difficult time.
We are thankful for the love and care shown by many during these past months, and we continually pray that our God will support and guide the medical team to provide the necessary care and enable Kezia to be restored to full health. Our trust is in Yahweh the God of Israel to heal according to his mercy.
