Kevin's Christmas Cure

Cpl Saenz's 10 year old son, Kevin, has relapsed for a second time with AML Leukemia.  After 2 unsuccessful bone marrow transplants in 2017 and 2019, he will try a rare third transplant, this time as part of a clinical trial taking place in St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, as no other options are viable for his treatment at this point in Canada.  Kevin and his parents are expected to travel to Memphis in a few weeks once Kevin completes chemotherapy treatment at CHEO in Ottawa to bring him to remission, in preparation for his new treatment.

This visit to St Jude will take the family away for 3 - 5  months while their other son Gabriel, stays in Halifax with his grandmother, as they don't have other relatives in Ottawa and need to focus on Kevin's care.

Although some medical and travel expenses are covered by St Jude's Hospital, the extended stay in Memphis will affect the family's current employment and income. We are asking for support in raising funds to support Cpl Saenz's family during this difficult time to help them focus their attention in the health of their son.
