Kevin's battle with cancer
Donation protected
Kevin has been diagnosed with Metastatic Mucinous Adenocarcinoma of his omentum. (Covering over his intestines)He went in for a ruptured appendix and the doctor found some tissue that looked like cancer. His right Colon and omentum was removed. We received some news we weren't prepared for. Cancer.
Kevin will be getting chemotherapy for 4 weeks in Jackson and when his body has recovered, we will fly to Baltimore to Mercy Medical to undergo a procedure called HIPEC.
To keep you from
The medical jargon..HIPEC is basically infusing your abdomen with a warm
Chemotherapy solution and letting it stay in the abdominal cavity for 1-3 hours then being drained.
The Dr who will be preforming the surgery trained under the doctor who created the procedure.
We are positive and ready for the next step as we adjust to our "new normal"
Kevin needs to be surrounded with positivity and prayers right now more than anything.
Their work and finances will be affected greatly by this. The financial strain being lessened by generous donations takes a level of stress off the family during these very hard seasons of treatment. Life goes on and there are regular bills to be paid toppled with stacking Medical bills.
Thank you for your prayer and generosity! This is being done by his family and will go straight to Kevin and his wife, Jessica.
