Kevin Karaoke's Legal Recovery

Donation protected

I have been dropped from the karaoke lawsuit, but the costs were more than I estimated, and since I don't have the funds to file for a countersuit, I don't have a way to recover my lost income or the lawyers fees. I'm asking for your help so that I may pay back my family and get myself back on track doing what I do best, hosting karaoke!

"Phoenix sued me for trademark infringement because I play my karaoke tracks from a hard drive rather than the hundreds of discs I have in my possession. Even THEY admit that it is easier to use a computer. My attorney pointed out that this is not a real trademark issue in a motion to dismiss. Rather than respond, Phoenix tried changing its Complaint. We filed another motion to dismiss with the same argument. Rather than respond, Phoenix simply dropped me from the case. I succeeded against Phoenix."

To all of my friends,
If you have wondered what happened to my Kevin Karaoke shows, please allow me to share with you because I could really use your help. I am involved in a lawsuit with a karaoke manufacturer, the details are in the last paragraph below. I have been an award-winning karaoke host for over 15 years and because of this lawsuit, I have lost my only source of income. I have been making ends meet thanks to my family's support and a part-time job. My legal fees to defend myself are becoming more than I can afford and so I'm asking for your help while I continue to look for a full time job.

If you have enjoyed the unique kind of entertainment that my show provides, please consider contributing to my legal fund. The sooner I can clear my good name, the sooner I can get back to doing what I love, hosting karaoke shows. I know that times are tough for everyone, so I appreciate every effort. Please share this post with your friends. I am certain that I will have good news to share so I will keep everyone posted. Thank you for all of your support and encouragement!

Your Host,
Kevin Cable

What is this lawsuit about?:
Phoenix Entertainment Partners, LLC has sued me, like it (and Slep-Tone) have sued hundreds of other individuals. It also sued some venues that I provided karaoke at. It alleges that I have moved the Sound Choice karaoke tracks from their cd to a hard drive, and that by doing so, I have infringed on their trademark. Some general information I was able to find online can be found here:
https://www.techdirt.com/blog/?company=slep-tone
I have retained attorneys that have successfully defended against these claims in the past.

In this link a Notre-Dame Law professor breaks down the same claims against me and how they don't stand up in court. LINK HERE

Who I am:
I am Kevin Cable.  I am known as Kevin Karaoke

I am a three time recipient of Karaoke Scene Magazine's "Karaoke Host of the Year" for Orange County. One of the venues where I have hosted have been voted "Best Karaoke Bar" by OC Weekly twice, as well as named CBS Local's "Best Karaoke Bar" for 2013. I also bring my electric guitar to add a little “rock star” element to my eclectic & lively karaoke show. I am also a standup comic/songwriter/puppeteer. I love to entertain!

Thank you for your support! Please share with your friends!
