Kevin Hurtado's Recovery Fund

Four years ago after suffering multiple seizures my brother, Kevin Hurtado, found out that he had an "astrocytoma tumor" in his brain and needed an operation to remove it. It was a long road to recovery but my brother pulled through and tried to go back to living a normal life.

This past July my brother suffered another seizure that hospitalized him. We assumed that the seizures were just something he had to endure every once in a while since his surgery.

Last week, we were finally seen by his neurologist, who told us that his tumor has returned and he will need to go through the same surgery as before. To me, his sister, the thought of him enduring this again scares me. Kevin's immediate financial concerns are rent and bills, because he can’t work.

We want Kevin to focus on his health, yet he’s consumed with worry about his finances. He qualifies for charity care, but this only covers his hospital visits over the next few months. It doesn’t help with lost wages.

I'm raising funds for Kevin's rent and other bills. That way he can spend his time resting and recovering. Last time he was out of work for five months, but still returned to work before he had the chance to fully recover. It’s time to help our friend, our brother, somebody we all love get through this crisis. Anything you can contribute will help this campaign be successful and encourage others to donate.
