Kevin's story.
5 years ago, Kevin O'Neill and I started sharing an office at Precision Metrology. In that time, I've gotten to know a lot about him and his family, and what great people they are.
Last year, Kevin was diagnosed with cancer. He has gone through chemotherapy and radiation. He as since had to have surgery on his face to remove the cancer, which included removing his nose as well. Always in good spirits, Kevin had opted to get a prosthetic, and they did a great job! He even joked that he tried to get a Phantom of the Opera mask instead of a prosthetic.
Recently Kevin has again fallen ill and was recently confined to the hospital with a feeding tube as he was unable to eat without becoming violently ill. He just recently got out of the hospital, however he still cannot work. He is out of vacation time, sick time and FMLA. The 401K company indicated that paying day to day bills, even though he is in the hospital, does not constitue a hardship withdrawal.
Kevin and his wife and son are at the point where they can no longer pay their bills and they have enough money for maybe a month of food.
Kevin's most recent update is not so good. The cancer is still there and right now both him and his doctors don't feel he is strong enough to withstand additional treatment. Kevin needs to get his weight up to boost his strength and energy so he can with stand chemo and/or immunotherapy. The only other option is to live the best for whatever time he has left.
