Kevin Clinnin Support Fund

In August, 2017 after nearly 2 years of working with doctors to solve several painful symptoms, Kevin Clinnin was diagnosed with liver disease.  This disease is irreversible and ultimately terminal if left untreated.  Doctors have determined that the only way to extend Kevin’s life is to have a liver transplant and replace his damaged liver with a new one.  For the last 5 months, Kevin and his family have been planning and preparing  for this complicated operation and long recovery process, filled with many difficult obstacles.  Despite the negative odds, Kevin remains positive and optimistic about the future and hopes that he can receive a new liver and make a full recovery.

Kevin was placed on the national transplant list on January 30th.  From this point, his health will be monitored on a weekly basis to update the database.  There is no telling when a liver will become available.  That all depends on an individual passing away with a healthy liver that is a match with Kevin that also coincides with his position on the list.  Unfortunately, many recipients on this list pass away while waiting for a liver match.  The worse Kevin’s condition progresses, the better the chances are that he will be offered a liver.  However, as the disease progresses, the harder it will be to survive surgery and the long recovery process.

In the event a healthy liver for Kevin is not found in the near term, Kevin's sister is a potential donor and if approved, may be a donor for Kevin. Due to this approach requiring a longer recovery for 2 people, this will not be the initial approach. 

This go fund me page is being set up to help Kevin’s family during this difficult process as he is away from work and waiting for a transplant.  Kevin is married with a 9-year old daughter and 8-year old son.  The money will be used for child care, food, and recovery expenses that go along with the long process.  Please donate to help this cause.
