Kate Houle Bone Marrow Transplant

Donation protected
Hello Everyone!  Most of you have been following Kate's story via Facebook or Caring bridge.  Kate was diagnosed with Leukemia on the 27th of September 2014.  After being in remission for 10 years she is once again fighting the fight.
After several weeks of staying in the hospital doing Chemo treatments she was told her cancer was in remission on the 10th of November and was sent home shortly after.  Kate has a few rough days and spent more time in the hospital battleing with infections.
The road to staying in remission will be long and difficult and so Kate has decided that she is going to do a Bone Marrow transplant (Stem Cell) instead of the regular chemo plan.  This will include a crazy amount of time away from home and her boys and she would like to fundraise some money to cover their expencse while she is gone.  Kate has not been able to work since late September and there is no income coming in.  They boys will be staying with a relative and money for grocerys, activities and everyday personal items is where the funding will go.
Kate's treatment will begin with a week long battery of testing at the U of M,  on the 26th of January, where the transplant will take place.  She will then more than likely have the transplant begining on the 9th of February.  The tansplant will keep her at the hospital for about 3 weeks strait and will need her to be in isolation, which means no hugs and kisses from her boys.
After the Doctor's give her the okay to leave the hospital she will then move across the street to a lodging faciltiy (Hpe Lodge)for cancer patients.  Kate will require 24 hour caregivers while she is there and this something she will need to provide as the hospital does not.  These caregivers will be family and friends and Kate will be at the Hope Lodge for another 3-6 weeks.  Kate would also like to use some of this funding to help the caregivers with gas and food and such while they are there helping her out.
Hopefully when this is all said and done Kate will fly through the transplant with flying colors and be home before the trees start to bud and the ground thaws out.  She knows that this will be a long and hard road and she is not looking forward to being away from her boys for such a long stretch.  She is more concerned about their welfare while she is gone than the procedure itself.  I ask all of you to come together and help out with whatever you can!  $10 bucks can go along way to purchase grocerys and help with some school lunches.  I encourage you all to follow Kate on Facebook and Caringbridge as well.
