My story

Life is interesting. You never know what it’s going to throw at you. If I have learned anything in my 26 years on this planet is it’s all in how you roll with it.

I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 3months of age.  I have spent the last 25 ½ years

on a daily regimen of  breathing treatments, ingesting medication to assist my digestive system to allow me to maintain weight. Also, if you know anything about CF. The life expectancy is, let’s just say, not guaranteed with the comfort of most young adults my age.

I refused to let that stop me though. My philosophy was “we are all going to die someday”.  I wouldn’t let it get to me. But surprisingly life threw me another curve ball. In my late teens to early twenties I ended up suffering from severe acne.  This actually was harder on me emotionally. To the point I dropped out of college, didn’t go out and socialize. It was a dark time.

One summer morning, my father walked in my room and said “Do you want to go to a concert tonight?”  My father loves music, plays drums and had always encouraged me to pick up an instrument. I didn’t have the desire.  When my father asked me to go to a concert, I wasn’t in the best frame of mind, but I said “Maybe, who’s playing?” My father said “Jason Mraz, doesn’t he have that song..”I won’t give up”.   I decided to go.

Then…My Life Changed…

Something happened to me that night. I can’t explain it. I was so blown away by the concert.  I was so amazed of what he did on stage and the message he gave . It inspired me to start playing guitar to try and see if I could do it . Still not willing to really go out, I became obsessed with becoming a better musician taking tips from Jason . I performed my first original at an open mic in 2014 and fell in love . I then found my purpose in life.

I was performing at a benefit when I met Jill Jack, a 46 time Detroit Music Award winning musician who mentors musicians.  She gave me her card that night, I decided to call her and now with her help and the help of her business partner, Producer Dale Grisa,  we are recording my music at Evolve Recording Company! I truly believe if all these events didn’t happen in the order that they did then I would not be where I am today about to make an amazing album .

On a side note, a VERY BIG SIDE NOTE..The other day I received the greatest gift in the world – a drug that makes my life expectancy a normal one. This drug treats the gene that causes the defect in cystic fibrosis and makes it work! I’m so excited about this and the energy this medicine gives.  I am ready to take my music and life to another level and tackle the shit out of the world.

I want to invite you to join me on my musical journey.  My Go Fund Me Page allows you to be a part of this beautiful process.  I will be posting all the excitement. From the writing process, the recording sessions, new shows and the announcement of the release of my music!  So many of you have asked how you could help make my dream come true! I thank you ahead of time for anything you feel you could donate. I promise to make you proud!

One last thing, right below there is a link to a song we have already started to work on in the studio. It's a little taste of what is to come. This song "Leave It All To Your Heart" will be released a week before Christmas!
