Treatment for Bi-Polar II

Donation protected
What I've learned over the past several months is that I shouldn't be ashamed about asking for help, and so far all my close friends have been an amazing support system. Now I need some help in getting a treatment I've been following for over 2 years, and I've finally hit a point in my life I really don't have a choice but to try it.  Over the past several months I've been hospitalized for my condition a couple of times and I can wait no longer, for in some ways my life depends on it. I have my intake appointment on April 23rd and I've already been cleared by my Dr.

Since as long as I can remember I've suffered from Bi-Polar II  depression, which runs in the family. My mother had it ever since I can remember and I ended up taking care of her and my father for the last 14 years of their lives. The average expectancy for Bi-Polar is 65 and my mom lived until 82. I've had severe depression since at least Jr. High and I've been looking for a viable treatment for over 20 years to no avail., and as you age it progressively gets worse. I've tried most medications and the closest thing that has worked was ECT  (Electro Convulsive Therapy) and that treatment is what helped keep my mom stable. Unfortunately, this treatment is very invasive has many side effects plus it takes a day out of your life.

Ketamine, on the other hand, is done at the Santa Fe Ketamine Clinic in the evening after work, and you go home a couple of hours later and you are ready to work the next day.   There are very few side effects and it's one of the most widely used medications used around the world. The FDA has just approved a nasal spray using this as well, however, it's a long ways off to being approved by insurance companies and having the Dr.s trained in the protocol in order to administer it.

The Ask - I'm looking to raise $4,000 to cover the first set of treatments, each treatment is $500 and you start with six over the first couple of weeks. From there you need to do maintenance treatments and each person is different in how often they need them. If it's like ECT, I needed the maintenance treatments once a month or so. Unfortunately, Insurance does not cover this treatment.

Asking for help has been one of the hardest things I've done in my life and I am humbled by everyone's support so far. Even a small donation will go a long way in covering the treatments I need.
