Keshinae's Liver Cancer Fund

Donation protected
On August 19, 2014 our 2 year old baby Keshinae was diagnosed with stage four hepatoblastoma liver cancer, and ever since then has been fighting for her life. Pediatric hepatoblastoma is a childhood malignant liver tumor. Due to limited access to medical resources and treatment for pediatric cancers such as this in Jamaica Kesh was admitted into the Cornwall Regional Hospital for a duration of approximately 2 months. While in the hospital Keshinae was treated with Tylenol that is for pain and fever the doctors clearly advised the family that this was a rare type of cancer that they were unable to affectively treat and recommended seeking medical attention in the United States. The hospital supplied a letter of recommendation to the U.S. embassy, after being denied once the visa was finally granted and issued on the second time. We received a letter from the University of Miami liver transplant team excepting Kesh’s case and all possible difficulties.  Keshinae was transported the following day on October 24, 2014 to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she arrived at Fort Lauderdale airport and was transported by ambulance to Broward General Hospital. Broward General contacted University of Miami Hospital letting them know the Kesh was ready to be treated. She was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) on October 25, 2014. While at Jackson she was put into a sleep induced coma due to the fact that the tumors size displaced her vital internal organs including her lungs, she needed the assistance of a ventilator to breathe. The treatment protocol for hepatoblastoma is shrinkage of the tumor and resection of the liver. The doctors gave the family all the treatment options and the risks associated with Keshinae’s condition. Keshinae has received 4 rounds of aggressive chemo therapy including an experimental drug. The tumor reduced from 80 cm. in diameter to 60 cm. but due to the extensive damage of the tumor to baby Kesh’s liver she desperately needs a liver transplantation in order to survive. Keshinae has been a fighter up to this point and now we need your donation to keep her alive we appreciate all help that is received thank you for your generous support and blessings for our family through this difficult time. Thank you all for your kindness .
