Kerry's Breast Cancer Battle

Donation protected
On the 1st of May Kerry found a large lump in her breast, the following week was a wirlwind of scans, biopsies and tests and on the 10th we recieved the horrible news it was a malignant cancer. This came as a total shock to her family and friends as we had to try to come to terms with her diagnosis and upcoming treatments

Kerry had a lumpectomy and lymphnode removal on the 19th of May where the tumour had already doubled in size.
After testing the tumour it was found to be a Grade 3 triple negative basal phenotype, basically that means it is an extremely agressive and invasive cancer which has no hormone receptors and hence treatment options are much more limited than 80-90% of other breast cancers.

Mum will be starting a dose dense chemo regime as of the 3rd of July and then every 2 weeks for 4 months. She will get 4 weeks break and the 6 weeks of radiation every day! The costs just keep piling up! Even though she has private health insurance not everything is covered or its only partly covered, not to mention the travel costs and she has now had to resign from her job in Bussleton and look at moving back to Mandurah.

We are reaching out to our amazing and supportive network of family and friends to help in any way. Every donation is greatly appreciated and will be a huge help to mum over the next few months.

Donations will go towards:

-Surgery and medical treatment costs (chemo, medications, surgical procedures, specialist appointments etc)
-Bills and expenses that will add up while Kerry is out of work.
-Any unanticipated costs that will come along during this battle.

Thank you for reading and considering Kerry's hard road ahead. We will really appreciate any donation no matter the size.

Extra money at the end of Kerry's treatment will be donated to the McGrath Foundation to help other women. The McGrath Foundation provide an amazing amount of support in terms of information packages and counselling support for women with breast cancer and we are so greatful!

Thank you all <3
