Support for Kerry's nieces & nephew

On January 19th, Kerry's 42 year old sister, Deirdra (right), suffered a massive heart attack damaging most of her heart and then suffered a subsequent stroke.  Deirdra suffered significant brain damage and is currently in the ICU dependent on a ventilator to breathe.  Her family is praying for a miracle.

Deirdra is a single mom to four children ages ranging from 6 to 21.  She and her children were living in Brooklyn at the time of her heart attack.  Deirdra’s sister, Kerry (pictured above left) has been granted guardianship of the two youngest girls-Kaylyn (6) and Brenna (11).  They have moved into Kerry’s studio in Manhattan.  

Kerry is a pediatric oncology nurse who has worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering for over 18 years. She lives in a studio with her fiance and 3 rescue dogs. She is in the process of registering Kaylyn and Brenna for school in Manhattan and looking for a bigger apartment so the girls can have their own bedroom. Kerry would also like to sign Kaylyn up for a gymnastics class because Kaylyn's answer to "What do you like to do" is always "Gymnastics!!"  Brenna is extremely athletic and Kerry wants to help support her passion for this.

Hailey (18) and Collin (21) have remained in Brooklyn with Kerry’s support.  She is paying their rent and expenses.  Kerry would like Hailey to be able to follow her passion to attend cosmetology school and is looking for an austic adult home/program for Collin where he can learn vocational skills.

Kerry has helped countless children and animals in her life.   She has always put her pediatric cancer patients and her work with rescue dogs above everything else.  Now Kerry is faced with raising two young girls and supporting two young adults.  This will be a huge emotional and financial undertaking but Kerry and her fiance are determined to give these kids a great life.
