Kerry Flack Abraham was my cousin; we shared an amazing set of Grandparents in Emily and Charlie DeLyne. On Sunday, July 9, Kerry lost her battle after suffering a brain stem injury in a fall down the stairs at her home. She is going to be dearly missed by all that knew her.
By extension of my adoration for their mother (and by just being themselves), I adore her kids and I wish I could erase this pain for them. More than anything else, Charlie and Emily (yes, named for our grandparents) need our continued love and support not just now, but in the years to come. But they are also at financially strenuous times of starting an independent life for Charlie and completing college (and hopefully vet school) for Emily. My hope here is to raise enough money to provide a bit of a financial buffer for Charlie (he's had his sites on taking an internship to roll into a full-time position) and give Emily more financial resources to finish college. Both of them were looking towards Kerry for substantial help. It's a seemingly trivial difference... but a little less stress for both of the would be a good thing.
