Rarely in life does a moment arrive that another person’s life can be positively and immediately altered and impacted by the actions of others.  Right now, today, is your opportunity to positively and directly alter the course of another human being.

Those of you with a blessed life are presented with an opportunity to reverse the incredible perplexities of Kerry (Pope) Woodliff.

Kerry surely didn’t seek misfortune; it just arrived unannounced two years ago.  Her husband of 30 + years, Jeff was injured at home, hospitalized, and died this year during rehab care in a nursing home.  Kerry was also hospitalized for a spell.  They had no medical insurance to cover costs.  Their small business failed due to their maladies.  They owe the IRS money.  Bills mount daily.  Kerry has no income, no savings, and no pension or insurance money; she is destitute.  Her family is unable to offer assistance.  Kerry found solace in her dog of 10 years, only to have him die this year, too, adding to Kerry’s grief.  If all that wasn’t oppressive enough, recently Kerry’s car ignited on the highway, destroying her only means of transportation.

Kerry has no job, no income, no husband, and no vehicle.  She is constantly battling depression as she struggles to remake her life.  She feels she is drowning and deflated.  “I’ve hit rock bottom so deep I don’t even know which way is up anymore,” said Kerry.  “I just want to feel normal again.”  In her state of despondency, Kerry can’t even imagine anyone would want to help her, and she sobs at thoughts that others would even want to lighten her load.

Today you can seize an opportunity, you can make a difference in someone’s life, and know for the rest of your life you actually stood up boldly to adversity and were the change in this world that you yearn to see.  A vehicle and a job are Kerry’s greatest needs right now.  She is interested in office work and is experienced in administration work.

Kerry can’t change her situation alone.  Neither can you.  But WE can, all of us together, because we do care, because we love, because we can.

Join with her friends and Highland High School Class of '76 Classmates in helping Kerry.
