Kerry Jr Family Fund

Kerry Jr is one of the kindest and most helpful humans around who wouldn't turn down a chance to help you, ever.  He is a hard, independent worker, raising cows and being self-employed running his own construction business.  He and his wife, Chris, have three handsome boys.  Kerry and Chris are very family oriented and have a strong bond.

On Sunday, December 2, 2018, Kerry was helping at his parents farm.  He was helping to hang the Christmas Star on the silo when he suffered a traumatic fall from the barn roof that morning.  Kerry suffered a broken pelvis and fractured three lower vertebra in his lower back.  He was transported by helicopter to South Bend Memorial Hospital.

While in the hospital he had several x-rays and scans.  He had two successful surgeries to put his pelvis and spine back in alignment.  After a week in the hospital Kerry was finally released to return home, December 9th.  However, following such a significant fall as this, he is very restricted as to the amount of movement he can do.  It will be a long recovery.

With this type of injury the recovery is a slow process.  Kerry has suffered significant nerve damage in his left leg and is dealing with the pain and numbness.  At this time, he is unable to bear weight on his left leg at all.  Hopefully, in six weeks he will start the process to walk again, but he will need a lot of therapy.  At the end of this year, December 2019, Kerry will have another surgery to remove the lumbar pelvic fixation.  Being self-employed, this makes it very difficult for Kerry to work.

Your donation will help Kerry pay for his ambulance, helicopter, and hospital bills.  This is an urgent situation.  Family and friends of Kerry have and will continue to help all that they can.  Getting Kerry back on his feet is the most important goal, but payment of the financial medical bills is also going to be hard.  If you can help even a little, it will never be forgotten how kind and giving you were.

We will update as we can.  Prayers and positive thoughts are also appreciated for Kerry and his family.

Thank you!
