Keri's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Tyler Queirolo, and I am Keri Queirolo's 17 year old son. As many of you may know my mother, Keri Queirolo, had a seizure yesterday on June 23, 2017. This news may or may not be taken as a suprise depending on how well you know my mother. About five hours later, our mother ended up having a second seizure that resulted in a worsened bitten tongue (she had already wounded it pretty bad in the first seizure), chipped teeth, and a trip to the hospital. Currently, my mother is in intensive care so that she can breathe properley with the amount of swelling in her tongue, to fight off the withdrawals she would be having, prevent more seizures from occuring, etc. When you read the word withdrawals, some of you may have been wondering what I am referring to. My sister and I have gotten to see disease hurt our family, having watched as alcoholism has affected our mother in some of the worst of ways. My mother has always done everything she possibly could for us, she did everything she could to raise my sister and I to be the human beings that we are today and has shown an unconditional love for us. We feel as if it is our turn to give back to her. Alcholism is a disease that runs in my mothers blood and unfortunately is having its impact on her. Throughout these past few years, particularily this one, alcohol has seemingly taken over my mother's life. After the hardships we have faced as a family within these past few years, alcohol became one of my mom's bestfriends and it has gotten to the point where I felt lucky to have a single conversation with my mother while she is sober. She has lost her all of her motives and goals in life, some of her friends, her health is being very negatively impacted, etc... but my sister and I know better. My mom is really needing help right now, she has been fighting alcohol for so long but it has gotten past the point where she can defeat it on her own. Our mother is not a bad person, and we love her so much, but this disease has been destroying the beautiful human being that we have loved, cherished, and looked up to all of our life. This is the second time in this past year where she has been hospitalized due to alcohol related incidents, but it will be the last time because in about 5 days from now my mom is to be released from the hospital and then put into a rehab facility where she will start her road to recovery from this long, harsh battle. About a year ago my mom lost her job when the Headstart pre-school that she had been working at for 12+ years had been moved to another town, meaning that all of our income is coming from my dad. As you may assume it is quite difficult for us as I, Keri's son plan to attend college this fall, while my sister (her daughter Emma) is still in highschool, so we are going to have some difficulties both financially and mentally having to pay all of the medical bills that are piling up, getting her into a rehab, all while still being able to get by on only my father's income. This road to recovery for my mother may be a difficult one, but with the generous donations and help of friends, family, and whomever else may come across this post, it can make things a whole lot easier. In the end, my sister, myself, our father, and the rest of our friends/family just want our mother to recover. I cannot wait to have my mother back. Thank you.
