Keolu Menehune Garden Club

The menehune are magical beings who hide deep the forests and up in the mountains that work at night to accomplish big tasks, including caring for the 'Āina.  We have a new club that is doing just that, but after school!

Keolu Elementary has begun its first Garden Club in some time, and we are almost at capacity of 20 students! Our plans include mālama of the current garden spaces, planting new seeds that the students would like to learn more about, welcoming guest speakers, harvesting plants, and even outsmarting local pests such at the cats and chickens who are enjoying our seedlings before we can harvest them!

We do not have any current source of funding, but the students are brainstorming ways to share what they learn in the club and raise their own funds for future projects and garden parties. Any funds raised now will help bring in tools, seeds, and structures like a fence to keep the pests at bay.

Your kokūa helping us reach our goal is so appreciated, whether you can offer $1-$5...every bit will go towards supporting the work of the garden club, and ensuring the participants have the tools and supplies they need to have a successful spring season!

We cannot wait to show you what these keiki accomplish thanks to your compassion and generosity!

‘A‘ohe hana nui ke alu ‘ia.
No task is too big when done together by all.

Mahalo nui for your support!
