Kenzie's Thyroid Surgery

Donation protected

First, the tests came back: NO CANCER.
Second, I believe all the bills are in so this should be the final amount. I'm including an amount for each bill to show the total that is still due. View the updates for pictures of the bills. These costs reflect the payments that have been made through your generous donations including those I have received in person as well as what payments my husband and I have been able to contribute. The final number is much smaller than what we feared, and for that we are grateful.
Thank you all so much for thinking of me and my family during this.

original post
I need surgery. I’ve developed thyroid nodules/tumors in my neck, the largest being 4.2 centimeters (almost two inches). The other two measure just under a centimeter (.9 and .7, about half an inch each). Each tumor is growing at about .1 cm a month meaning that every year it is another half inch. In another area, this may not be such an emergency. However, they have already caused breathing and swallowing issues (even t-shirt collars can make me gag and choke) and it can hemorrhage if I fall, not to mention internal pain and hormonal issues that have been present for the last year.

We’ve been forced to redo all the tests done in China (for updating purposes) though American prices are crippling.  My husband and I both work two jobs. None of our four jobs offer insurance and so we must pay for this out of pocket. It was $4000 dollars for one ER visit, another $539 for one blood draw, and that’s not counting other blood draws and an ultrasound. This surgery alone is going to cost upwards of $17,000. After the surgery, I will have necessary appointments and medicine to replace the function of my thyroid.

I’ll include pictures of each bill as they arrive to validate the cost.

We are hoping to have the funds by December. The surgery may happen earlier, but this will take care of payments.

If you can help us out at all, even the tiniest bit, it would be much appreciated.

Running total for donations given through other means than GoFundMe: $1471
This amount is being subtracted from the total needed so don't be weirded out if the total amount keeps shrinking.
