Kenya Volunteer Trip 2016

Donation protected

As friends of mine know, my mom and I travelled to Kenya during the summer of 2014 with International Volunteer HQ to volunteer at a Kenyan Orphanage in need for a few weeks and it was absolutely life changing. As a second year student at St. Francis Xavier University studying Development Studies, I was instantly inspired to volunteer with this company when I became aware of a tradegy, which included a previous StFX student working in Tanzania in 2013 who passed in a car accident there. Being dedicated to my soon to be school, I knew East Africa was where I should be, to finish the work she began. More recently, I was recently granted a sum amount of $500 from StFX to be donated to the children's home I spent my summer with, which will go further than you can imagine (this sum is not reflected in the amount shown above). That sum of money will go directly to the children, which will help alleviate some of their hardships, and will contribute to projects aimed at achieving sustainability and the bettering of their lives. This upcoming May of 2016, I will be travelling back on my own to visit and work within the orphange for a second time for a one month stay to make a larger difference for the children, the home, and the communtiy members who work each day. Through this website I am reaching out for support whether it be small or large, to help send me back to Makimei Home ($1100 aprox.), and remaining funds will directly go to the children living there. Please help out as you can, and know that you are making the world of difference and changing these beautiful children's lives. Thank you so much, and I hope that you can support and spread on my story.
