Kentucky or Bust!
On Friday, September 29th, we will begin an epic voyage. Over the course of two weeks, Christian and I will be driving my horse, E to Kentucky and back. She and I are participating in the Retired Racehorse Project to bring awareness to Off Track Thoroughbreds and their endless athleticism and broad range of skills as they transition to life after racing.
All of the participants have had a short 10 months to prepare their ex-racers in any 2 of 10 total disciplines. Over 500 horses will show the incredible versatility that the Thoroughbred has to offer.
This fund has been set up to help cover the cost of gas and lodging for our trip. It will take 4.5 days to get there where we will stay for almost a week then turn around and drive the 2400 miles back to Portland, Oregon.
In honor of my first OTTB who turned 30 this year the suggested donation is $30 although any amount big or small is appreciated beyond words. The amazing support of my family, friends and community - horse and non-horse alike - has been felt on a daily basis throughout this process already.
Our goal is to raise the funds before we leave so we can begin our voyage ready to concentrate on our Kentucky experience.
