Kent Morizawa's Fight Against Lymphoma

This GoFundMe page is to support our dear friend, Kent Morizawa (a.k.a. Ronan Takagi), who is currently battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Despite receiving cancer treatments for over a year, including gene therapy, and clinical trials, his tumor continues to grow. On New Years Day, doctors delivered the heartbreaking news: Kent can no longer continue treatment to halt the cancer's progression. Kent is 37.
Those of us with the fortune of having met Kent in high school at Taft, or as a Bear at Cal, or as an aspiring attorney at Hastings, or through other friends at events, know that he's the one person on whom you can rely. Not only has he been there for all of us, Kent has dedicated his career to helping working people. He's done this both as an advocate for unions and employees at Reich Adell & Cvitan, as well as an administrative law judge at the California Public Employment Relations Board. On top of all that, Kent made us laugh with his book, Fifty Fares, and touched our hearts and souls through his blog, Burnt Toast.
Kent's young family includes his best friend and the love of his life, Chanda, and their active and curious 16-month old son, Taizo. Kent's immediate family includes his loving and hardworking parents, Masuo and Kyoko. Along with his love of family and friends, Kent is a tried and true Dodgers fan who never stopped believing in their greatness.
The Morizawas are some of the most caring and generous people, and they will need as much support as you can give, whether financially or spiritually, to help them navigate through this devastating ordeal. As his friends, we are asking you to consider donating to support his family in the short- and long-term. Please know that any amount — no matter how small — will benefit the Morizawa family.
