It has been said that dance is a powerful ally for developing many attributes of a growing child. Research has indicated that dance helps children mature physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively. As a parent, we strive to provide opportunities that will allow our children to develop to become the best that they can be.
Kennedy is an active 11-year-old who works every day to fulfill the highest expression of herself as an artist. She’s a dancer, singer and actress who loves entertaining and performing on the small stage, at home and before the masses, on stage! At the age of 2, she began to exhibit a passion for dance and took classes in ballet, jazz, tap and tumbling. For the past 8 years, Kennedy has studied and competed in all genres of dance which includes ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, African and acro. At age 6, Kennedy started a journey to chase her dream of becoming a professional dancer/entertainer. It was then that she started hip-hop and contemporary dancing, which lead her to compete and win several awards in numerous regional and national dance competitions. On this journey, Kennedy has been blessed to work and train with many phenomenal choreographers. She is currently training with, Kimmie Gee, Tasha B., Evari LeAnthony, Kiki Ely, Sakinah Lestage and have trained with Mac Marvelous, Roland "RoRo" Tabor, Josh Smith and Jene` Marie These choreographers work with Beyoncé, Usher, Chris Brown, Neyo, Christina Aguilera, Ciara, Christina Milian, Teyana Taylor and several other artists.
Not only is Kennedy an awesome dancer, she excels in school! She is on the honor roll, takes gifted classes and is an accelerated reader on 8th grade level. She was 4th grade class president last year. Kennedy’s goals and dreams are to work with Beyoncé and Oprah Winfrey, become a well-known professional dancer/entertainer, an Emmy Award winner for outstanding choreography, work with powerful individuals in the music/movie entertainment industry and forever pay if forward!
Kennedy recently had the opportunity to audition for Debbie Allen and was selected to participate in Debbie Allen’s Summer Intensive Program 2018, in Los Angeles, CA from June 29 thru July 29, 2018. This is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity for any dancer and will most certainly have an enormous impact on her personal and professional life.
