Kennedy Family Hurricane Assistance

In the early morning hours of September 15th, 2018 the Kennedy Family was evacuated from their home due to rising floodwaters from Hurricane Florence.  Although they are so grateful to be safe and together as a family, in the blink of an eye, they have lost their home, most of their belongings and many irreplaceable family heirlooms have been severely damaged or destroyed.    

This is such a difficult time for the family, processing the devastation to their community, navigating through insurance red tape, looking for temporary housing (their house has already been deemed a total loss and will have to be demolished) and basically starting from scratch every day until their new normal is established.  

Amy was my roommate in (and after) college at UNCW.  She and her family hold a special place in many hearts.  I’m hoping we can come together and show support to by relieving some of the financial burden they are currently experiencing.  All funds will go directly and immediately to the Kennedy Family.  If you are able to make a financial donation, any amount truly helps.  They also need resources for replacement of household items and furniture.  If all you can do is share a kind word for the family in the comments, that is appreciated too!
