Kendras Journey for kidney pancreas transplant

Donation protected
I am on my journey to being evaluated in January at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida for simultaneous kidney and pancreas transplant. When i went there last October for evaluation, they discovered a nodule on my lung and did a biopsy and diagnosed me with histoplasmosis and to endure one years worth of antifungal lung medication. My time is coming close and need additional support to keep moving forward, i deeply appreciate you hearing my story and sharing my link so that others may contribute if possible, i am hoping that i will be listed in January and raising funding for the travel and expense of the surgery that insurance is not covering. During such weird times everybody is strapped and in need. I could not have come as far as i have without the agressive support and love of those who have helped thus far. There is a long road ahead of us but i am certain that after my surgery i will be able to live the life and feel good everyday. I look forward to what the future holds. Thank you for all your help with such a pressing health concern. RIght now dialysis is keeping me alive and treatment is 3 days a week for 4 hour sessions. Here is a history of my diagnosis Thank you for hearing my story.  I was first diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 6.  For 23 years, I have battled this disease, which has led to serious complications including stage 5 renal failure, diabetic neuropathy, retinopathy, hypothyroidism, and gastroparesis.  Currently, I am undergoing dialysis treatments three days a week, lasting for up to 4 to 5 hours per treatment.  The treatment alone has caused massive energy loss and weakening of muscles prohibiting me from work.  My doctors have advised that a kidney and pancreas transplant is critical in order to save my life. I have been referredto the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida where I was evaluated for kidney and pancreas transplants. During the evaluation, a mass was discovered on my left upper lung and a biopsy was performed along with several other blood tests. I was diagnosed with histoplasmosis. It is a known environmental fungus in the area due to the heavily populated chicken farms. It is also known to be in caves. I am required to receive a full year treatment and will be re evaluated on the progress of the fungal infection in early spring 2020. After thoughtful consideration, I have decided to possibly relocate to get out of the area in which the fungus is most common, and to be close to Mayo Clinic for ongoing medical Care.As I seek to receive this critical treatment, I am faced with many overwhelming health and financial struggles.  As I go through this rigorous journey, I am seeking prayers and any type of support available. The goal amount I have set, will hopefully get me through the first phase of my treatments and travel cost.  However, I am still unsure of the full transplant and medication costs that will be incurred. Though this struggle has been very hard for me, I remain optimistic and know there is hope. I absolutely refuse to accept defeat. If you are able to help my cause by sharing this page or donating, I would greatly appreciate it!  Any and every prayer and good vibe is also well appreciated!  Thank you so much to all those that have already helped me.  I simply would not be where I am today without the generosity and outreach from loved ones and our community❤️!
