Kendra Hensley 12 year old girl

Kendra is a 12 year old girl that until this week was perfectly healthy and a great athlete. On December 13th 2017, while at basketball practice, Kendra collapsed.  Her dad, a paramedic and firefighter is the one who responded to the call.  He picked her up in the ambulance and immediately realized she was in grave danger. He was able to overcome his emotion and utilize his training to save her life. She was medevaced by helicopter to The El Paso Children's Hospital. They ran multiple tests on the evening of December 13th, but were unable to determine the cause.   On December 14th, the team of doctors took another c.t. scan and determined the cause to be a blood clot on the left side of the brain caused by a vertebral artery dissection (arterial tear.) The source of the tear has yet to be determined. With the tear, the artery had slower blood flow which was allowing the blood to coagulate and clot, which then became lodged in the artery causing the stroke to occur on December 13th.  The neurosurgical team then rushed her into surgery to remove the clot around 9 am. They ran a "brain stent" through her thigh all the way to the left side of her brain and removed the clot. Once the clot was removed they were able to see blood flowing back into that side of the brain. They continued to monitor her swelling and brain activity throughout the week to watch for abnormal swelling, and she appeared to be doing well. Within the next couple of days, they were able to remove her breathing tube and she is showing signs of her personality returning. She retains full use of her left side, while her right side is still paralyzed, she is working on in doing both physical and speech therapy.  Kendra is now being transported to a neurological rehab center in Albuquerque, NM.  Her parents have not left her side since the incident occurred and are in for a very long road of teaching her the basics again. This fund is to help them in the lost work time and unplanned out of pocket expenses. Any help is greatly appreciated.  Her family has always been there to help those in need and now we need to help them.  Your continued prayers and support are greatly appreciated
