Eagle River Lions Foundation - Racquet Courts

Eagle River Lion's Club / Foundation has continued to offer outstanding community outreach and continues to do so through the Racquet Club project.  Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.

Racquet Sports and Community Center
The intent of the project is the renewal of the tennis courts but to also include Pickle Ball courts along with tennis.  In addition, the racquet material will be designed to be taken down thus availing a community event center for such things like "Concert in the Park," "Youth Rally's," etc, which the event does not have to worry about rain.

Phase 1 - Renewing of the Racquet Court Surface
This process will be removing old asphalt, renewing the base material, laying new asphalt, replacing the old posts and nets, and painting the racquet surface for tennis and pickle ball.

Phase 2 - Constructing a Partial Enclosed Dome
The desire is to have a framed, fabric, partially enclosed dome over the Racquet Club / Community Center.  Alaska has only 4 indoor racquet courts in the entire State.  The completion of Phase 2 will avail 4 more partially indoor courts for community use.  In addition, Eagle River / Chugiak does not have a large indoor general use center (outside of the Mac Center).  Phase 2 will give more options for the community for events without worry of "weather permitting."
