<div>Ken Zimmerman has owned and operated the iconic Harlem Avenue Lounge in Berwyn Illinois for 31 years. As a local spot for hearing live blues, Ken provided not only a stage for up-and-coming performers, he also provided considerable support to these musicians getting them gigs at bigger venues and sometimes overseas locales.

<div>In August, 2023, Ken was diagnosed with lung, bone, and brain cancer.  Shortly before Christmas, Ken went into hospice and his family decided to close the bar, unable to continue managing the business.

<div>Ken passed away peacefully at home on February 2nd, 2024.  Due to Ken’s generosity and friendship to so many patrons and musicians he has helped over the years, a benefit show has been scheduled for Ken and his family to assist with his medical bills.  The show is taking place at Fitzgerald’s Nightclub in Berwyn and will feature many Harlem Ave performers from over the years.
