Ken Saelens Memorial

Donation protected
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart we say good bye to Ken Saelens.  He passed away unexpectedly over Labor Day weekend.  Ken will be survived by his wife, Brianna and two children, Evadney and Ethan.   The loss of Kenny will be on so many hearts in the coming days.  Kenny adored his family and took pride as a father.  I am in contact with Brianna and would like to gather together support for his family.  Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Brianna asked to also share a few words.

I lost my husband to mental illness due to his successful suicide. He thought that his mental illness was shameful and that no one should treat him with kindness and that he did not deserve love. Unfortunately, that is what we tend to do with people who battle mental illness. Their illness permeates throughout their whole life which manifest in destructive ways. Being with someone like this is a struggle, but I pray and hope that society can help make a shift in the process of the way we care for those with mental disease. I pray and hope that stigmas are released so that helping people does not get overshadowed.  I beg to GOD that if you are reading this, get your loved one permanent help if they mention they are deserving of nothing. This man was loving, kind, generous, thoughtful, creative, articulate, passionate, supportive, intelligent, fun, a husband, a father to two wonderful children, a brother, a son, and friend.
