Dear Friends & Family of Ken & Lori,
As you all know, Ken & Lori are special people with a warm and generous spirit. Currently they are in the process of fulfilling one of their lifelong dreams of fostering children. As they enter this milestone in their life, I wanted to offer them support. While this is not a "traditional" beginning to parenting, it is one that is just as important. I thought it would be a good idea, therefore, to offer them a strong financial start so that they can have a little help in getting the items they will need along the way. They will need furniture as well as items for children of age groups infant-10 just in getting started and I thought in lieu of a traditional "baby shower," this would be a nice way to demonstrate our support and celebration of one of life's most joyest milestones. Ken & Lori intend on being licensed for 1-3 children, ages 0-10.
Please let me be clear in stating this was entirely my idea. I realize that when things are done a little bit differently, people can have a hard time relating. With that being said, if you do not feel like donating or do not have the money, please know that is OK. Anything you can donate would help and would strictly be used for the support of the children, but it would also just be an expression of your support for Ken, Lori, and the many children that they will begin to help shortly.
When reaching out to Ken & Lori, they provided me with some alternatives to donation of money including donation of slightly used infant and children items as well as passing a criminal background check in order to be pre-approved for baby-sitting. If you have any items around the house that you feel would help or want to reach out to offer your hand in baby-sitting, please message me and I will send you Lori's email address.
