My name is Nikki Todd and I am from Jacksonville, Florida. I am one of many volunteers working to give relief to the families of Ken Knight Drive, impacted by Hurricane Irma. We are raising funds to provide food, water, ice, coal for grills, cleaning supplies, and other basic life necessities to this community. Funds will be used to purchase these items (for a more detailed list of items please see below.)

On September 11, 2017, Hurricane Irma landed on the First Coast with a fury this city hasn't seen in decades. Many local communities have begun healing from the impact of this massive storm, however, the people of Ken Knight Drive on the Northside of Jacksonville, Florida, did not fare so favorably. High winds and flooding occurred, raging through this neighborhood and leaving devastation in it's path. The flood waters have now subsided, but the depravity of Irma's wrath has not. Among one of the hardest hit communities, the people of Ken Knight Drive have yet to find relief from the aftermath of Irma.
These folks are in desperate need of help from their community. Power is on, but rendered nearly useless as outlets and appliances have been destroyed from flooding. Food is needed but cold storage is basically unavailable and cooking is only an option by grill and camping materials outdoors.
In addition to cash, below are a list of necessities to help relieve the devastation of the families impacted on Ken Knight Drive.
VOLUNTEERS: Hands on deck to help clean and cook! Pick up and drop off of items donated. Also, if you can volunteer to aid in any of the following below WE NEED YOU!!
Food and Water: Water. THEY HAVE NO SAFE RUNNING WATER. Food that can be eaten immediately, non-perishables, things that can be cooked outdoors on the grill or camping items. Water or any other beverage items.
Cooking, Fuel, and Coolers: These families need grills and other outdoor/camping items to cook on and in. Big stock pots, burners, charcoal, and propane. Basically, anything that can be used to store and prepare food while their electricity and appliances are unavailable.
Basic human neccesities: Clothing for men, women, and children, hygiene products (ex. toothpaste, soap, deoderant etc,) feminine hygiene products, school supplies, and other specific, individual needs.
Medical Attention and First Aid Supplies: First Aid trained volunteers and basic medical supplies. Bandages, disinfectants, pain relievers, benadryl, gauze, medical tape, ointment, etc.
Household needs: Furniture and appliances. Stoves, refrigerators, toilets, beds, sheets, mattresses, cleaning materials, laundry supplies etc. These things were all RUINED.
I could not estimate the full cost to repair these lives if I tried. Money is needed to feed families and buy supplies to help repair this neighborhood. The list is simply daunting. Any money, items donated, or volunteering would be so incredibly useful. These poor families need help now and it seems that as of now that is only going to happen through the power of social media, word of mouth, and hard working volunteers. Let's band together to help the families of Ken Knight Drive!
