Ken Ketcham Medical Transport

Donation protected
In December 2016, Ken was diagnosed with interstitial lung disease.  By the time it is diagnosed, it has usually already been present in the body for awhile, but is thought to be a cough or cold.  With increased difficulty in breathing, Ken was put on home oxygen.  During the past two months, his oxygen needs have greatly increased.  Ken purchased a personal oxygen concentrator in order to make a long-planned trip to North Dakota to visit with family.  During the trip, he developed increased shortness of breathness, difficulty breathing, and was not able to keep his oxygen saturation levels at a safe level.  On August 12, he was admitted to the ICU at Sanford Health where attempts were made to stabilize his breathing.  In addition, Ken had an elevated heart rate and atrial fibrillation.  He was moved to intermediate care for a few days, but was transferred back to ICU to be intubated, placed on a ventilator and receive the level of care he needs.  We are praying for him to recover so that he can be taken off the ventilator and use his personal oxygen concentrator and return home.

We are seeking financial assistance for Ken's family to safely transfer Ken home to Tennessee from North Dakota.  He will require continuous oxygen and monitoring by medical personnel, making a car ride, standard ground transportation or public air travel unfeasible.   The estimated cost for a medical flight transfer home is $42,000.  We appreciate any assistance you can provide to help with this and other mounting costs.
