Ken and Anita's Motorcycle Injuries

On Friday September 28, 2018 at about 4:00 pm, My brother Ken and his wife, Anita were taking one last leisurely ride of the year on the Motorcycle. In front of Costco's in Victoria, a lady decided to turn into the parking lot, trying to beat the bike and in doing so, she T-boned Ken and Anita.
My brother's injuries are devastating with a shattered ankle, broken hip where they had to put in 2 plates and repair the socket, broken pelvis and he also damaged his knee however, they can't do anything with it yet or know the full extent of the damage as he was needed to be put in a cast in order to have the ankle stabilized with all the pins and screws. Ken also badly damaged his right hand and arm.
Anita was badly injured with damage to her right knee-torn ligaments, meniscus damage - won't know of full extent til swelling goes down. Bruised ribs on left side, pulled muscles, deep tissue damage near the tail bone and upper buttocks.
Neither are able to return to work right now and it's doubtful that Ken will return at all as he drives a tanker truck rig that involves naturally, a lot of sitting for hours on end. Anita cleans houses so this entails a lot of standing and bending that proves rather difficult with her injuries. With neither of them able to work, there is no income to pay for rent, vehicle loans, household bills and groceries and support for his kids. It could be some time before anything is settled so, in the mean time, they could really use our help for the first couple months anyways.
On top of all of this, comes the mental anguish of remembering everything about the accident and that will remain with them. They are lucky to have come out of this alive.
