Kelsey Starnes

Hello! My name is Lindsay Fridell and Sarah Starnes and I have been best friends for many years now and I felt lead to start this campaign to help her and her husband, Justin Starnes, through this very difficult time! Several months ago, Kelsey began suffering from many different side effects that have affected her vision for a period of time, the loss of feeling on one side of her body, or a part of her body, for a period of time, along with headaches that are uncontrollable, fever, seizures, and so many other things that a child (or anyone) should never have to go through.. and one of the hardest aspects of it all is that there is no diagnosis this far. She has lesions on her spine and now has a lesion on her brain and was originally diagnosed with ADEM and then MS but now it seems to be something different. The dr's at children's are leaning towards mitochondrial disease but have not been able to confirm that just yet, and because it is so rare more testing will need to be done at the Mayo Clinic to confirm, or get, a diagnosis and to determine which type of mitochondrial disease it is to be able to determine treatments. Sarah is an RN and Justin is a police officer and is a soldier in the Army reserve so they have both always dedicated their time to serving others and would do anything for anyone so this is just a way for us to give back to them and help them! This is why this campaign has been started. They have both already missed several days of work for different hospital stays and follow up appointments but now they will have to drive all the way to Minnesota to the Mayo Clinic (because Kelsey does not need to fly with seizures) and they will have to stay in a hotel the whole time they are there and eat. On top of all of these things to worry about the amount of insurance coverage is unknown at this time. Prayer is the most important thing they need at this time but financial support will help lift a burden. Please continue to pray for Justin, Sarah, Kelsey, and her older sister Kayleigh.
