Kelsey and her identical twin sister, Kelly, need your help! They were diagnosed with Lipedema (a connective tissue disease resulting in diet and exercise resistant fat deposits beneath the skin), Lymphedema (long term condition causing fluid to collect under the skin), and Lupus in their early 20's. They gained approx. 150lbs over the next year and a half with steady increases as a result of the conditions and were no longer able to live their once active lives, nor recognize themselves in the mirror, due to the pain that comes along with these conditions. A 10 min walk from the St Mary Canada Life office to head office could result in a sick day spent in pain. 

 

 Maintenance of their medical conditions requires Kelsey and Kelly to wear daily compression garments, spend multiple hours each day using a compression pump, receive regular rounds of needles, take morphine, and other medication, daily to manage pain.

The only known and successful treatment is not offered in Canada and Kelsey and Kelly need your help to cover costs for things like accommodations (they need to stay in the US for a while after treatment), post surgical compression garments, prescription medication prescribed in the US, the upgrade to business class required for post surgical accommodations, meals, house keeping assistance while recovering at home etc.

 

 Kelsey is one of, if not THE, most selfless people I know. She is always first to volunteer to help others, and the last to ask for help. So, I am asking for her. Any donation is appreciated and will go a long way in helping reduce the stress of an already stressful experience.
