Many of you know the details but for the ones who are unaware I’ll just give a quick update.
Kelsey was admitted to Baptist INTEGRIS on August 3rd due to high blood pressure. Her Doctor was not comfortable with her health conditions and wanted to do further testing. After a few days of observation, labs, 24hr urine, and so on all the signs pointed to preeclampsia.
What Kelsey thought was just an ultrasound to check on her baby girl has turned into a living nightmare. Within minutes she was told “your baby is fine but you aren’t and we might have to take her now” Kelsey was only 21 weeks and knew the outcome of delivering that early wasn’t very good, so she told her doctors she wanted to do everything possible to keep Harper in a few more weeks.
They will know more about Kelsey’s condition after delivery when they are able to do a biopsy on her kidneys. Right now they are trying to keep her blood pressure under control and they are keeping a close eye on her kidneys as well. But if they keep getting worse she will have to deliver Harper before permanent damage is done.
Their first goal was to get Harper to 24 weeks and she is almost there! They know it’s still early but with God on their side anything is possible and they have faith in his plans for them. Harper will be in the NICU for awhile after she is born and Kelsey will also continue her stay, the doctor told her minimum 10 days but expect to stay a lot longer.
Since Kelsey is unable to work and has extra expenses coming her way any donation is very appreciated. She has a long road ahead of her and could use all the help she can get. She was hesitate on letting me do this for her but after a lot of thought she decided it would take so much stress away.
