In honor of Kelly McMahon’s birthday on September 29th, friends and framily of Kelly have planned an afternoon of volunteer service at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, GA. A prominent location at the historic Cemetery is in desperate need of planting as a tree was removed earlier this year and has turned this once shaded area into a full-sun eye sore.
We as a group will rejuvenate the space by planting a variety of shrubs, perennials, groundcover and bulbs. Those who are able to help volunteer and those who unfortunately cannot make it will all have the opportunity to see this area come alive now and in the years to come.
The wholesale cost for the project is going to be approximately $750. 100% of the money raised will go directly to the Historic Oakland Foundation to purchase the plants for ‘Kelly’s Corner’. All additional raised funds will be donated to The Giving Kitchen. The Giving Kitchen is an established non-profit in Atlanta, GA whose mission is to provide emergency assistance to restaurant workers who need help to cover their living expenses while recovering from an accident, illness or disaster.
