Kelly Abbass - Through life and death

About a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, which is an incurable brain cancer. From the beginning I chose to fight as hard as I could - And I tried not to think about the inevitable outcome. After surgery, radiation and chemotherapy - a year of progress slowed down in November 2019. I knew from the beginning that it was a battle that I would have to face right up until the very end. When the treatments started to no longer show positive results - that I was getting used to - I felt that it was time to be frank about it. So I met with one of my oncologists in December, right before Christmas. I asked the tough question - Is this my last Christmas? He couldn't guarantee that, at this point. And he's always so positive. But the truth is, I made it this far, and that 18 months was a milestone.

When I was originally diagnosed, there were many offers to start a GoFundMe page to help me. But I'm a pretty stubborn, self-reliant person. And I was determined - I got this. But I know that I really don't. And I need your help. There are 3 reasons why I started this GoFundMe. The first is that after a year and a half of fighting this, my funds are running out - Even day to day things become a little more difficult. The second is, I'm not done fighting! And if there are alternatives to help deal with the pain and some of the daily physical struggles, and even to prolong my life, I need to explore every option. But a lot of those options come with a price tag. The third reason I started this - And maybe it's the most important to me - I want to take away the burden from my family when the time does come. I need to make my own plans, make sure that everything is in place and that everything is taken care of. I can't do that without some help.
