<div>In February of this year, Kelli Taylor found herself facing an unexpected diagnosis: Stage 3 Multiple Myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer that impacts her bone marrow and plasma, and also has been wreaking havoc on her bones, leading to multiple fractures in her spine and ribs.

<div>While this diagnosis understandably came as a shock, what has not been surprising to all those who know Kelli, is how she is facing this news--with grace, tenacity, humor, positivity, and smiles--truly embodying the phrase "like a ray of f*cking sunshine."

<div>While Kelli and her family are doing their best to navigate the full-time chaos that is inherent in a cancer diagnosis, they are also wrangling with the disjointed state of the US healthcare system, negotiating with insurance companies, researching treatment options, and traveling all over for all manner of testing, all while Kelli continues to try to keep working.

<div>As an independent, creative business owner, Kelli won't qualify for programs like the Family Medical Leave Act/FMLA (and neither does her partner, Liz, who also owns their own business), which can help alleviate some of the financial stress that often accompanies a life-changing diagnosis. So while we can't change all of the big systems at play for Kelli in the immediate future, we can help take the pressure off, allowing both Kelli to focus on resting and getting better, and Liz and her family on caring for her--instead of bills.
