This past September, Kellen & I were invited to participate in a small group mission trip to Guatemala, with 16 other members of our church,Messiah Lutheran, next May for 10 days.  Kellen & I were excited at the invitation for sure, but really wanted to give this some thought before we committed. We discussed this trip & what it would mean, at length with the members of our family, have done research, & gone to informational meetings about the trip.  Kellen is determined, believes that he can do this, & wants an opportunity to serve & help others.  After hearing about his brother Sam's mission trip to Denver this last summer, Kellen is anxious for his own chance to give from his heart. So after much discussion & thought & prayer, we are excited to say yes we will serve in Guatemala next May!

Our total per person is $1400 plus our plane tickets ($800 ea roughly) and we need to pay a deposit of $300 for each of us by December 1st.  Kellen will be fundraising in earnest through projects with our church, and is also planning on making crafts and gifts with me, to sell, to contibute to his trip.  He is also asking for donations in lieu of Christmas gifts, for this trip.
