Keli'i Tau'a: Lifetime Award Lunch

I feel honored at my age to be recognized as a Lifetime Achievement Awardee by Hawaiian Academy of Recording Arts. I've spent much of my adult life documenting through music my love for Hawai'i and its people.
I feel that my family and I should be present at this award banquet to confirm the joy of being recognized as a recpient for I have dedicated much of my life writing and recording the music to share with people the beauty of Hawai'i nei, the Aloha state.
As part of my legacy, I represent my parents. My father whose grandparents sailed from Huahine, Tahiti to make connections with Hawaiian ancestry. My mother, whose family came from Portugal connected in Hawai'i.
Unfortunately, due to the high cost of living in Hawai'i, I moved to Washington State with my wife and three young boys. And traveling to Hawai'i at this time is cost prohibitive.
To this end we are setting up this Go Fund Me. We understand there are so many people in dire need of financial support. And we appreciate your consideration in helping us be present at the awards banquet in October 2017.
To all those who I have collaborated in music over the years, mahalo nui for your friendship and love of music. I am grateful for your participation in my music career and am grateful for the piece of history we share.
